Summer Celebration at Neot Kedumim,
every Sunday and Wednesday:
Bringing the Bikkurim (first fruits)

Re-enact a biblical happening!

Throughout the summer, the ancient Israelites brought their first-fruit offerings to Jerusalem with much festivity and fanfare, music and celebration.

And throughout the summer, we re-enact this joyful ritual in the Seven Species area at Neot Kedumim.

    There we will do:
  • dress in costumes to start our pilgrimage to "Jerusalem "
  • gather samples of grapes, figs, pomegranates, and more along the trail
  • sing, recite psalms, and play musical instruments
  • experience our authentic olive press and threshing floor
  • weave with date palm fronds
  • make aromatic sachets and/or crowns from myrtle
(taking into consideration time and season)

At a specially designated area, we will dramatically present our "first fruits" to the "cohen" and conclude our celebration with sound and color, joy and jubilation.
