Hazzan Ramón Tasat : Born in Buenos Aires , Argentina , Ramón’s style reflects the rich history and drama of the extraordinary culture of the Sephardic people. Trained in five different countries, Ramón has studied at the Latin American Rabbinical Seminary, the Manuel de Falla Conservatory of Music and the University of Texas at Austin , where he received a Doctorate degree in Voice Performance. Vocalist, musician, educator, recording artist and gifted entertainer, Ramón thrills audiences with his magnificent tenor voice and unforgettable guitar arrangements.
Zemer Chai , whose name means “living song,” is a choir dedicated to sharing the rich musical heritage of the Jewish people. Respected for its moving interpretations and skillful performance, the choir has appeared at the Kennedy Center , the Smithsonian Institution and in concert halls in Boston and New York . Zemer Chai sings the full range of the Jewish choral repertoire, including liturgical and classical pieces, Jewish folk music from around the world, and new works composed especially for the choir. Zemer Chai was founded in 1976 by Eleanor Epstein, who is sought after as an accomplished arranger, guest conductor and artist-in-residence by choirs and congregations throughout the US .
The Shir Shalom Choir sings spiritual Hebrew music in all styles, providing musical inspiration for worship services at Temple Shalom . Its members have also performed in various concerts throughout the Washington , DC metropolitan area. |
