Welcome
from the President of American Friends of Neot Kedumim

On behalf of the Board of Directors of American Friends of Neot Kedumim (AFNK), I would like to welcome all of you to this inaugural edition of the AFNK Electronic Newsletter. We view this newsletter as a true partnership. The key players are AFNK, Neot Kedumim in Israel, and you, our friends.

It is my hope that the newsletter will keep you informed about new developments at Neot Kedumim, as well as continue to teach valuable lessons about the relationship between the Bible, the Land of Israel, and the People of Israel.

In each edition, we will try to provide

  • words of Torah
  • interviews with key staff people at Neot Kedumim
  • seasonal/botanical insights
  • new developments at the reserve
  • opportunities to help support and sustain the work of Neot Kedumim

I would like to offer one of those opportunities to you right now: Our newsletter needs a name! We are looking to you, our friends, to use your creativity to come up with an appropriate name. The name will be selected by the staff in Israel and here in the US after reviewing all submissions. The deadline for submitting a name for consideration is 31 December 2005.

B'rukhim haba'im (welcome), and enjoy!

Paula Tobenfeld
